Places I work
I help people buy and sell all over Jackson and Josephine counties. Here's what each town is like to live in, and a few things worth asking before you buy there.
Jackson County
Medford, Ashland and the towns around them.
8 places
Medford
The valley's biggest city and Jackson County seat: hospitals, the airport, most of the shopping, and neighborhoods from 1910s bungalows to new East Medford subdivisions.
Central Point
Next door to Medford with a small-town main street and a lot of newer neighborhoods. Easy freeway access and a short drive to most of the valley.
Jacksonville
A gold-rush town from the 1850s with a historic downtown, wooded hills and summer concerts. Quieter and slower, and only a short drive from Medford.
Ashland
At the south end of the valley under the Siskiyous. A university town with theater, restaurants and Lithia Park in the middle of it all.
Talent & Phoenix
Two small towns between Medford and Ashland, still rebuilding after the 2020 Almeda Fire. A mix of established streets and brand-new construction.
Eagle Point
Northeast of Medford along Highway 62, with room to spread out. Newer neighborhoods, golf, and a straight shot toward the lakes and Crater Lake.
White City
Unincorporated, between Medford and Eagle Point. Home to a big industrial area and a VA medical campus, with some of the valley's more affordable houses.
Shady Cove
A small town on the Rogue River up Highway 62. Fishing, drift boats, and a slower pace about 30 minutes from Medford.

Josephine County
Grants Pass, the Applegate side and the Illinois Valley. I actually work here more than most people expect.
4 places
Grants Pass
The Josephine County seat, right on the Rogue River about 30 minutes northwest of Medford. A real downtown, river parks, and a lot of homes on a little extra land just outside town.
Merlin
A small, rural community just northwest of Grants Pass, on the way to the wild stretch of the Rogue. Bigger lots, quiet roads, and still close to town for errands.
Murphy & Williams
The Josephine County side of the Applegate Valley, south of Grants Pass. Farmland, vineyards, the Applegate River, and a slower, rural way of life.
Cave Junction & Illinois Valley
Out in the Illinois Valley about 30 miles southwest of Grants Pass on Highway 199. Rural, wooded and quiet, with the Oregon Caves and the Illinois River nearby.
